Dudekula men demand due recognition
Rajahmundry:
The nearly 40 lakh Dudekula (cotton cleaners and bed makers) BC muslims
in the State have demanded due recognition in the coming local and
assembly elections. They deplored that though they were 5,000 above
population in each constituency, they have no identity in any political
party.
Mr T Dattagiri and Mr Sheikh Subhan, leaders of the State Noor Basha (Dudekula) BC muslim welfare society addressed the media, at Rajahmundry River Bay, on Sunday.
They said that they would go from house to house in the villages and enlighten their caste people about the lack of political recognition for them. Mr Dattagiri said that in the coming elections, they would give full support only to the party that recognises them. He said that because they were being seen only as backward classes and not as muslim minorities, their caste was losing out on all benefits.
The society leaders demanded that they should be recognised as muslims. Even though there were two-lakh population in Cuddapah district, they were not given any recognition by the Rajasekhar Reddy government, they deplored.
They announced that their caste people will be made aware of this fact and a meeting would be conducted in January next. They demanded that their problems have to be solved.
Other leaders, Md. Masthan, Sheikh Salim, S K Alikhan Baba, S K Khan, Rehman S K Gouse, Lajam, S K Vali, D Karunakar and others participated.

A.P. decalared Dude Kula community among Muslims as backward class
In
1970 Govt. of A.P. had decalared ‘Dude Kula’ community among the
Muslims as backward class, Govt. also issued a G.O. on 3rd May for the
establishment of Dudekula Muslim Co-operative Socities Federation. As
per the Govt’s survey records, Dudekula Community’s population in the
state is 4% and all of them are Muslims.
A.P. High Court in its judgment pronounced on 17th August 1995 declared Dudekula as a Muslim Community but in the caste certificates, this community is being shown as ‘Hindus which is nothing but a conspiracy to deprive the benefits of the Muslim Community.
Mr. Shaik Sattar Saheb, President A.P. Noorbash Assocation and Dudekula Assocation told that in the application for caste certificate there is no column of religion.
Mr. Mahboob Peeran also condemn practice of issuing Hindus as Dudekulas.
